Mrs. Angie Motshekga is the Minister of Basic Education in South Africa which forms a part of the Department of Education. Her job is to ensure that all the needs of schools and pupils at the primary level of education are met. This position also includes ensuring that illiterate and under educated adults in the country have access to an education facility. The role out of the Adult Basic Education and Training programme across South Africa gives her the means to fulfil this task. Facilities have become available in the form of community centres and city halls which learners can easily access. Trained volunteers fulfil the task of facilitators who assist the learners in the training and development process.
