Many adults believe that failing school or leaving early means they have lost their chance to complete Matric. In reality, there are still recognised pathways available, and the first step is understanding whether you meet the entry requirements.

Adult Matric Entry Requirements
Many people believe they no longer qualify for Matric because they failed school or never completed Grade 12.
That is not always true.
To qualify for Adult Matric through the Amended Senior Certificate, you generally need one of the following:
– A passed Grade 9 report with English and Mathematics
– A passed GETC (General Education and Training Certificate)
– Grade 10 completed or failed
– Grade 11 completed or failed
– Grade 12 failed
If you did not reach Grade 9, there is still another pathway available.
You may qualify through a completed GETC qualification from an Umalusi-accredited ABET provider. The GETC is a General Education and Training Certificate at NQF Level 1 and helps learners build the foundation needed to progress further.
