Starting the journey – ABET level 1

ABET level 1 is the equivalent of grade 3. A learner who has achieved ABET level one should have gained the foundation that further study can build on in an effort to eradicate illiteracy in South Africa. At this level the learner will have a basic understanding of mathematics and will be bale to read and write at a basic level. However, more study will be required if the learner is to achieve a level that will allow him or her to become productive members of the company’s workforce as well as productive members of their communities. It is advisable that the organisation encourage these learners to progress to at least ABET level three which is the equivalent of grade seven.
