Time passes quickly and we can all quickly forget that education was once considered a privilege and not a basic human right. Most people did not have access to schools or the means to achieve basic writing skills. The sad fact is that many people across South Africa and the African continent still do not receive even the most basic education. Building enough schools and providing teachers is often overlooked in the continuous struggle to survive. Food, water and basic housing are always a priority but educating a nation will allow its citizens to begin providing for their basic needs on their own.
