Companies addressing education challenges

Any company would ideally want a literate workforce, it’s simply good business practice. An educated workforce is more productive and studies have shown that job satisfaction peaks when the organisation offers workers the opportunity to study. In South Africa this mandate takes on an added urgency due to the effects of the Apartheid educational system which led to high levels of illiteracy and a generally low level of education. Today companies across the country are addressing the challenge through participation in Adult Basic Education and Training programs, a trend which is leading to a better standard of living for workers in all industries.
