Training of ABET Assessors

To become ABET assessors training companies or persons must qualify according to the SAQA unit standard 115753 to conduct outcomes based education assessments. At the end of the course the people qualifying as ABET assessors will thus have obtained 15 credits at the National Qualifications Level 5. The SETA in the specific industry will also have to accredit the course attended.

The ABET assessors will after completion of such a course have the confidence to conduct assessments of candidates in their specific field. The ABET assessors are qualified to assess a candidate, prepare for assessments, provide feedback and conduct the reviews of the assessments according to industry standards. When attending an ABET accredited course, learners can thus have confidence in their ABET assessors who have gone through the proper training to assess them, the material and the reviews.
