My client is a multi-national manufacturer of highly specialised pumps for the mining industry based on the East Rand. When they contacted Triple E Training they indicated a need for assistance to comply with the government’s Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment programme, social and labour plans (SLP) and local economic development (LED).
Solution: ABET is classified as Category B training for the BEE Scorecard
Adult Based Education and Training (ABET), or otherwise known as Adult Education and Training (AET), is one of the best ways to address compliance with B-BBEE, SLP and LED. ABET further was a perfect fit to my client’s overall BEE strategy. Because ABET is classified as Category B training within the skills matrix it also allows my client to claim 125% which means the actual value of spend is less than the value claimed on the BEE Scorecard towards Skills Development.
Expert opinion: ABET for succession planning and promotion
As part of its skills development plan my client identified an employee for succession planning with the aim of promoting him to a management position. With Triple E Training’s three-year ABET programme the employee will be able to enhance his skills in writing, reading, understanding, listening, numeracy and mathematics which will prepare him for his new role as manager.
An expert facilitator has been appointed to conduct the ABET programme on-site at my client’s premises in Boksburg in one three-hour session every week for the next three years.
